rear view of the welded body shell inner structure is tomarrows project

the body shell is finnished ,except for grinding the spot welds

the lower rear window panel is welded in and a back glass is set in place, perfect fit

the roof is welded on

the rear roof brace is now welded in place and so is the lower rear window area several hours spent in this area measureing and re measuring as the tail panel and quarters and trunk lid were fit all at the same time.got word that jim smart may want to do an article on this conversion for mustangs monthly magazine

pass side quarter now welded in place ,again only welded at the door jamb and lower rocker area

i prefit the pass side end cap the same as the drivers and welded in the quarter end

pass side door structure and rain gutter now in place, again lots of measureing

drivers quarter now in place ,starting to look like a fast back

the driver quarter is fit to the car and welded only at the door jamb and the lower rocker i needed to be able to move the quarter at the tail panel and below rear window for final adjustments, i fit the doors to the coupe before i striped off the sheet metal for future alighnment of the fastback sheetmetal, perfect gaps

end of quarter is welded in

the rain gutter goes on now

67 door structure was measured and measured and measured again when i was satisfied i welded it in place ,i have a 65 fastback for measurements

tail light panel is next,centered leveled and checked for heigth and finaly wellded

rear seat divider is next ,has to go in now because it wont go in in one piece later

the car all level used three levels and a lazer level as well, the rear trunk support is the first piece in

areas that i cant get at later were primed first

sheet metal all trimed and sandblasted very clean sub structure ,perfect starting point

this sweet litle convert is actually a coupe i had a wrecked convert that i transferd all the convert structure from
