i dont understand why peoplr say thier cars fall on thier face at like 5000-5500

Well with the stock lower/heads that is just the way it is...mine seemed to lose a noticeable amount of pull/power when I hit around 5500rpm...you could almost lay on it after you dump the clutch and it acted like its own rev-limiter at 5500rpm in my car...now it keeps pulling after a few additions :nice:

You guys that are pulling to 6k rpm, are you doing that on your stock tach? I know when I shift a 6k rpm on my autometer tach, I am over 7k on my stock tach. The stock tach is not accurate. Just something for you guy to think about.

Let's just put it this way...a stock headed/intake 5.0 will not reach 6000 rpm as quick as one with an aftermarket set of heads/intake...

Yes the 5.0 can reach the 6k mark...it just doesn't make power up that high and 6k is past the "shifting mark"...

Not all stock guages are off that bad...some are good and some are worse than others...

I see, my stock tach sucks, its good down low, but its way off up top. But back to the original post. When I was searching for a new intake, I just started at the search engine on yahoo. I found some really good info on different intakes at the andersonfordmotorsport.com under read media articles. I say the street heat intake will be plenty. The BBK intake is to new to get good info on it, and I say its not starting out to good. But its just my opinion.

well duh..that's the same as saying a stock headed/intake 5.0 will not cover the 1/4 mile as fast as one with aftermaket heads/intake lol :D
