I was wondering if I posted a pic of my car in here ( Saleen kit but V6 :( ) if any of you guys could give your opinion on it and what you think I should try to do to it if anything? All opinions, suggestions, and trashy marks on the car would be welcome? So can I post pics here?

I wouldn't mind seeing how extensive you went. In my appearance conversion I spent alot of $$ and effort to have it done properly including custom aluminum brackets and braces to prevent warping all over.

I had my car completely wet sanded to get rid of all the orange peel that the factory finish is known for and had them lay down a pure black paint that pops. All said and done, the shop spent over 150 hours on it to make it perfect and better than buying direct from Saleen. Of course had them install the complete S281-E kit including the vented composite hood, C-pillars, center exhaust and 3-pc wing.

I also had them remove the door locks and antenna as subtle changes. I have loved Saleens for the longest time, but they didn't ship this configuration to Canada in June 2002 when I ordered the car and I had to have the Cobra.. so I will eat the flaming and sneers of the Saleen community for replicating a car I think is bada$$.

Of course talking to people, I am proud to tell them it's a Cobra with 450rwhp and only 15k miles and explain where my inspiration for the appearance came from.

I think that they should not sell a saleen kit for a v6....

So what your saying is that they should ask if its going on a V8 before they sell it to anybody???:notnice: :notnice: Ok dumbest thing I have ever heard but ANYWAY here she is. If you dont like it say it.

I put it back in the body shop in June for a new set of side skirts to be molded on. Till then it just sits in the back yard waiting. I wont drive a car with no side skirts.

It's a bit "ricy" for my particular style, but definately a nice car. I've never liked the euro style lights on a Mustang, personal pref. You've got the Saleen kit on the car, but there's no chance it could be mistaken for an authentic one. With all the custom work you've done to it (shaving this and that, lambo doors, etc.) it looks good with the kit though. I can respect someone elses vision, even if it is not what I'm particularly into. Then again, what fun would it be to go to a car show if everyone had the same taste  Looks like you put a lot of time and money into it. Good job!!:nice: :nice:

Glad to see no saleen stickers...

O no I would NEVER think of putting a Saleen sticker on it. Wing will be gone when I find one I like.. that one was free so I stuck it on there. I got some rust to take care of back there anyway. Writing on the windows will be gone too. Thanks for the imput guys. BTW my name is Jeremy mind if I hang out around here cuz I LOVE the Saleens?

The winshield stickers have to go, they make all mustangs look bad, toss the billet grill, ditch the tailights. Me personally i would of bought saleen replica rims, i just don't like a saleen kit with ford rims.

I like the paint.

The doors, well, not a fan of them, but i'll assume most of the time they are down or close, so no big deal.

I think the car since it has a nice paint job, has potential, but alot of the mods are a bit ricey.
Tone it down a bit, and you'll have a sweet ride.

As someone with one fake saleen, and one real one, i have no problem with the use of the saleen decal setup, as long as the car looks real, and doesn't consist of anything other than saleen exterior parts.

I took all the stickers off yesterday. The wheels where on the car when i got it and seing as they are 18's i figured that would be the last thing i change, but trust me Saleen wheels are on my list of things to do. Toss the billet grill and just run the normal pony?? Again somthing on the car when I got it same wth the taillights. Speaking of that should I go back to stock taillights wth the housing around them black or piant it silver like it is now?

The taillights depend on what you're trying to achieve. The SN95 Saleens came with black bezels around the tails, and black mirror's for that matter. When I had my car re-painted, I kept the black around the tails, but had the mirrors color matched to the body. I also had them paint the door inserts the body color, which was not done until the later models. It's what I wanted to do and achieved the look I was after. You'll have to decide the look you're going for...

The car does look a lot better now. Would look very sweet with Saleen wheel. I don't care for that style taillights at all.

Taillights are going. My best friend said she can get me the 94-95 taillights ( i like them better then the 96-98 personal opinion ) and the Saleen wheels are also in the works. And to who ever said somthing about the billet grill THANK YOU I agree it looks 100 times better with the pony.
