Ran across this fox body Sleez on eBay and went to take a look at it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1987...4643559746QQcategoryZ6236QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It is only 1/2 hour from my house. I rode over there in mine, but the guy didn't see me drive up. I meet him and he starts off by telling me this not a normal Mustang, its a S-A-Y-L-E-E-N. Limited production and all. So I bit, and began looking around the car. It's not in bad shape. It's been repainted (runs on the rear wing). The sayleen wheels are due for a good cleaning, but they didn't look real bad (I'm not a big fan of the basket weeve type wheels). The tires are entirely too small for the car and dry rotted. The interior is is pretty decent shape. The Flo-fits don't have any tears or rub marks but there is rust on the metal parts of the seats. Some of the plastic isnt in great shape, especially around the door locks and window controls on the drivers side. The car has 131000 miles on it to boot (and the engine looks like it!).

So I ask the guy how much he "really" wants. He proceedes to tell me that he needs to get at least 8K for the car. I told him there was no way he was going to get 8 for the car and he again informs me that it's a collectable Sayleen. So, I took him out to see mine and he says, "you already have one". I said I know but I wanted to check out the car because it's a Fox body. I told him that no-one that knows anything about the car is going to give him 8 for it, but he tells me that maybe he still thinks he can get it. I tell him good luck and take off...

BTW, is the Saleen ID plate on the drivers side inner fender on the Foxs? That is where this one was. I thought they were on the firewall as well. Looked for some Saleen build info on the doors, but there wasn't any. Oh well, for those of you that might have been looking at it, it's not worth it in my opinion...

That car use to be here in Georgia. according to his ebay auction the seats were redone??? I have pictures of the seats when it was here in Georgia, Can you tell me if the material of the seats is correct or does it look like he bought a used interior and put it in. The original seats were literally torn up. This car is the next one in line after mine!!! I almost bought it here in Georgia but didn't have the money. I'd like to see the interior better then the pictures he has on ebay. It's hard to tell about the material.

You'd think a guy with those cars would have a digi cam better than a cell phone.

I love when they say "well, i NEED to get".

Car may be worth $7000 or so.

I thought the material looked rather "plush". Sounds funny I know, but other Flowfits that I've seen were a but tighter, not as fluffy (I'm talking the velvetyness material). It did appear to be the right color combo though. The seats had a bit of rust on the metal parts, as I said in my original post. I couldn't tell if the seats were re-done, or if they came out of another car. No wear marks or holes though, so something was definately done...

The car is actually at a dealer. It was in the garage part with a nice 69 Z28, Nova, Ranchero, and some other muscle cars. I'm sure if you e-mail him he might take some other pics and get them to you. He's a younger guy (20's I'd guess) that works there. It could be a nice car with some TLC, new motor, and interior parts(a set of 3 piece sterns wouldn't hurt it either....) However, I still don't think it's worth 8K...

Actually it was 90-93 that the different front piece was used. When the car was here in Georgia it had that newer front piece even then so I'm guessing at some point a long time ago the previous owner did the same thing as I did and that was when they replaced it they couldn't get the 87-89 piece and used the newer one. I've got the newer one because I couldn't find the original one either in good shape and according to Saleen the newer design was suppose to be better for aerodynamics.
