I have two fox mustang 5.0's right now, i'm taking a 3.73 drum to drum rear end and swapping into my Notch that has a 3.08. I have everything removed accept the e-brake line that goes into the drum.

My question is, what's the easiest way to remove the e-brake cable? Do I really need to take apart the springs and shoes to get in there or am I missing an easier solution?

Thanks in advance. I'm not converting to disc for a long time so you can save that comment.

Yeah you have to take the drum off and pull the cable off the shoe and then pinch the little fingers on the cable end to push it through the plate. It's not hard, if you can swap a whole rear end this won't be an issue to you

It was the last thing still attached to the rear end last night when I called it a night. I didn't really want to have to go through the process of tearing the drum brakes apart to release it if there was another faster option. Sucks because I have to do it on the rear end for the Notch too. I guess i'll be pretty good with drums by the time this is over.

Do I need to release the cable at the e-brake handle to relieve tension?

Thanks @88LX5.Oh
