Water Pump 86-93 Vs Timing Cover 94-95

Hey guys,

Im in the middle of my build and I just installed a timing cover, I noticed that my old water pump i use for mocking up doesnt line up with the bolt holes. Upon further research, i found out that the timing cover is for a 302 on a 94-95 and the water pump i have wont work.

If i buy a water pump for a 94-95 302 will I have any issues with flow or heating issues. Or do i have to buy a timing cover for a 86-93 302. Help please, this is putting a stop to my build.

In theory it should work with a 94 - 95 water pump. Personally I think the 94 - 95 is a better design. In order for it to work you would need a pulley with a different offset to match where the belt rides. It gives you more room between the water pump pulley and fan if you want to run an electric fan. If you want to keep the stock fan, I wouldn't do it.

Does anyone know if a pulley exists that would work?
