We just installed a ProCharger P600B on my friends 95 GT, we have a 100 inch belt on there and the tensioner keeps banging. The belt feels really tight. a 101 inch belt was too lose and a 99 inch belt didn't fit. Any ideas on what would cause the tensioner to do this?
Thanks

Worn out. Those springs don't last forever. Just replaced the tensioner on my '90 and the difference between the original and replacement was night and day.

Is it knocking all of the time, or just when you get in, then out of it quickly?

There are wear marks on the the side of the tensioner body. If the belt reaches the maximum wear mark it's too long. I thought belts could be bought in about 1/2" increments. See if this helps.
