We're having a beer and discussing the new toy while looking at a 96 Gran Sport die cast.

I can't help thinking about Rogain dispenser nozzles in the dome light. I keep chuckling and she keeps asking me "what"?

I dying to spill the beans but biting my tongue.
Ha when I was young and that car was new I had a model.

Oh, no doubt....but not so full of problems they were scrapped in their entirety. The must have had more success than failure with them for GM to hang onto them for as long as they did?

Ok....now that you've got that out of your system., take a breath.

As big a POS as "your" car may have been in it's entirety (not sure what power windows and HVAC controls have to do with the engine), the Northestar line of engines as a whole was successful. Hell....GM kept them around for 19-years....so they must not have been all that bad?

..instead of coasting along with the paltry 4.6L engine platform they clung onto for far too long...about 5-10-years too long IMO.
Yeah the 4.6 was horsesh*t

I wouldn't commend GM on that Northstar. It was an unholy POS. In order to change the starter, you had to pull a cylinder head. I remember when I was turning wrenches and one of those came into the shop. The customer would crap their pants full when we told them it was $2600 to change the starter. Cadillac was the division of GM that ran it bankrupt, losing 4.1 million it's last year alone. I know they ran it for 19 years, but I'm sure it cost them a lot in hassle.

Reminds me of and episode from the first season of Top Gear where they mention the MG/Rover ZT260 that was fitted with a "Mustang engine". The crowd goes "ooooh" and Clarkson just shakes his head and says, "it's not a good engine." How true.

I remember that episode. Clarkson is standing in front of the 4.6 engine making a remark questioning how Ford managed to get so little power out of such a huge engine.

My stock yellow LT1 is about as tame as they come. With 2.59 rear gears I roll through town at 45mph literally idling with my foot off the gas. It feels so ridiculous.

Now, whether you like vettes or not, this clip is pretty cool. The thing sounds pretty badass. If you like cars and this clip doesn't give you a hard on, you truly do need Viagra.

Not defending Jeremy but American cars compared to European and Asian cars in the same price range are just plain lacking. There are a few exceptions to that rule but for the most part. We pay a lot and get very little compared to what's offered on the international market.
