Hey all my Mustang is currently exhibiting some strange behavior with the windows. When I go to roll my windows down they will not go down. I can hear a switch clicking kind of sound from both window switches on the driver side. They will eventually roll down but it only seems to happen in the mornings/evenings when it is cool outside. When it is the middle of the day they will not go down at all. The car only does this during the summer so I have no clue on what to do. I imagine the switch is corroded and possibly needs cleaning? I haven't taken the door apart to find the switches and was wondering if anyone has had this problem as well?

Thanks

I had this problem on my Expedition just a month ago. I know it is not the same application, but same manufacturer. I would also here the window switch click as to say it is sending the signal to the motor but no results. What I found to be the problem is that the motor needed cleaning. Inside where the brushes are and the regreased it. The motors do come apart for access to cleaning them. I took the housing off and the pulled the shaft out to get to the brushes. Then that was the cure. Hope this helps.

BTW, I have not had the luxury of getting to a motor on this gen, but on my Expedition the motor was riveted onto the door. So I had to drill the rivets out and then I bolted them back on. Also it is best to undo the track once you have drilled the motor rivets and pull the whole assy out of the door at once track and motor.
