Can some one link or point me towards a radio wiring diagram for a 94 mustang with radio and CD decks. I have been looking, but just can't find it. My Haynes manual just has some generic diagram and all others that I have found were for other years.

What I really want to know (at least at this point) is which wires are the sound inputs for the factory amp.

I am just getting started doing an in-dash tablet install, and I want to run audio input straight from the 3.5 audio jack on the tablet to the factory amp.

Any advice or links appreciated. Thanks:SN:

I did the same recently, here's my old thread:

http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-for...ereo-head-unit-with-an-android-tablet.858009/

I had to buy an extra amplifier to make sure the volume was high enough, the factory amps don't boost the volume from the headphone jack enough.

Nice build :nice:

Which amplifier did you buy? I didn't see it in your thread anywhere, unless that Clarion equalizer is also an amp? Or maybe I missed something.

For now, I wouldn't mind the sound volume being low (my wife always makes me turn the music down anyways).
I just want to be able to listen to music right off my tablet or phone, and get rid of this ugly broke factory stereo.

On the factory harness, how did you figure out the wiring? Is there a diagram somewhere? Or do I have to start probing wires with the volt meter, or something?

It's all in the thread. the Clarion equalizer is also an amp. Feel free to buy some other amplifier, the Clarion was what I could afford at the time. And if you buy a Metra adapter 70-5510 connector, it plugs directly into the plugs from the radio - no splicing needed. I did not have to cut any factory wiring at all.

I am trying to go a different route. I want to utilize the factory amp instead of buying a separate amp, so while your build is a great reference, it does not have all of the information that I need.

Not to mention, it looks like a previous owner did some hack work on my radio. There are some solder-less connectors and loose wires, so I really need a diagram or a color coded list of some sort. Just buying an adapter and plugging things together is not going to fix my problem or accomplish my goal.

If anyone has any information it will be greatly appreciated!

Well, I do use the factory amp in my setup as well, the car I installed the tablet into has the Mach 460 system installed. But if your factory wiring is all hacked up, you'll need to restore it somehow. Unfortunately, I can't help you there.
