I'm doing the brake system for the GM. I have this combination proportioning valve/ distribution block from Wilwood for the car. It's held on w/ two bolts.
It needs to be said that I (like most of you I'm sure) have boxes, bins, and tubs of surplus bolts everywhere in the garage.
With that said, do I have the right length bolts to hold that damn prop valve onto the strut tower?
Of course not.
This morning at 10:30, I go out planning to go to home depot to buy the stupid bolts. I get about 2 blocks away, and I decide to go back and get one of the caliper's because since I was out, I was gonna make the 45 minute drive north to the last speed parts shop we have here in Bham to buy the fittings and SS lines to complete the brake system. So off I go.

When I get to the commit point to go north, I decided to go into Autozone, and see if the stock hoses could be had for the thing instead. They could, and for less than the braided junk would've cost me, so I bought them. Everything except the stupid banjo bolts.

NBD, It's just a little banjo bolt, I figured stupid AZ just didn't have it.
BUT,...
Neither did Advance, Oreilly's,Napa, Ford, and a local parts house.

2 hours later, I still got nothing. Had I went North to the speed shop, I'd have a complete system, converted over to braided SS lines, and I be working on it now. But I decided to use the stock junk instead.
Now the speed shop is closed. I end up ordering two dumb assed banjo bolts from Summit.
On top of that,I forget to go to HD to get the other stinkin' bolts I went out for in the first place.

So Mike, when they do a movie about your life, who is going to play you as the lead actor? And no......I do not see an Emmy being awarded for the portrayal of you. You are truly one of a kind.

It's a symptom of old age. Join the club...
