I believe my engine in my 88 vert may have a bent pushrod( still not 100% sure) so Im wondering what u guys think...should i get the stock engine rebuilt by a local shop to stock spec? or stroker kit?? my car is bone stock with 151000 miles

or I could go with a full engine swap. the frpp 306 making 340hp seems like a huge upgrade. also the coyote swap would be nice but from what ive read could cost upwards of 15k.....any advice or input from guys who have been down this road before I would like to hear about your previous experiences. the do's and don'ts basically and if u had ur time back what would you do differently

If your thinking about spending money to swap motors, I'd do a 351w swap. The 306 isn't really 340 hp. read other forms online about the product and your gonna get discouraged quickly. Your gonna pay about the same price as buying a 306 crate motor. And the 351 starts out with more cubic inches

my engine was starting to get a bit noisy over this past summer...hit the gas one day, that's when the excessive ticking started on the passenger side...just would like to add some more power while keeping reliability

How much power you want to add and how much you want to spend really affect how we can answer this for you. A stock type short block with better heads and a better cam would be one good answer. I think that is what the Frpp is in already assembled form. But I hear there are better heads, and you might want a more radical cam.

Yes, a 351 is bigger and the extra swap parts are not too hard to find, but a stealth stroker kit is not much more than a good 306 kit.

I also would like to know what is really wrong (and a budget and power goal) before ordering anything.
