Hey GT Jeff:

This thread's to old to be relevant, but I feel compelled to reply.
C-5 Corvettes are capable cars. I'm a GM fan from the middle 60's.. But current Corvettes just don't sound as good as my ragged '05 5-speed GT, and they look kind of generic; MR-2 looking. The '05 Mustang makes a bigger visual statement than a similar C-5, perhaps just because it reminds me of a '69. The C-5 has IRS, more aluminum and GFRP, but has a 50's design push-rod motor. The 05-14 Mustang has the non-IRS rear-end, but a more sophisticated 2 or 4 over head cam motor. Factor in price and engine technology right now, I'll pick my daily driver '05 GT, even if I could afford the Corvette. A Mustang/Camaro argument would be more useful.

Good luck, GT Jeff.
