Hey Gang!

Been many years since I have been here, the Cobra is doing great, pretty much a full race car now.

Blew out many power steering parts, finally changed it back to manual steering last year. Much more precise, but on the street like driving an F600 dump truck.

So, looking for a system which can be a compromise. I saw the link for the guy who offers the 65-66 Electronic Power system based on Saturn Vue EPS, he splashed every forum and site. But, it got me thinking, as I have yet to see it on a Cobra.

So, I am asking if any of you have done the Electronic Steering conversion, what was your experience, before/after opinions and steering feel, etc. I am also looking to see if you did it yourself, what parts you used, such as adapters, spline sizes, etc. Mine will be a full custom installation, so please no links or selling of a pre-fab kit. I want the hard-core answers from those who have done it. As well, any alignment notes, etc.

Many thanks for the information you provide!

BTW - did my old 69 convertible (Chepie) ever re-surface?

Dan

Pic is of Cobrask8 on track this year. New 331 Stroker, 403 HP, it's scary again!

Wow, a '28 Indian Fire Vert? Ungodly rare!!!!! I still keep a picture of one with a white top on my desk. Chrome GT wheels on the car in the pic.

Chepie had a 5.0 and AOD, plus a custom Rack & Pinion steering, and the Granada disc brake upgrade.

Gathering more parts, have a plan. I do need to find out the spline size on the output side of the EPS unit. Any ideas?
