Hey Everyone, want to get some advice on whether to get the stock OEM carb, or upgrade to a new performance one? first off, I don't know what the OEM carb model is, so if any can help me with, it would be much appreciated. Second, as for a performance carb, my 289 is a daily driver, so I don't want something that's too high performance mainly cause I want to keep the cost low, let's say under $250. Any recommendations on an aftermarket performance carb would help as well. Thanks.

The autolite 4100 would be fantastic. Check out pony carbs for one built to handle modern fuels. I cant remember if they are pricey though or not. Otherwise you could always go with a holley or edelbrock off the shelf, either way would work. Prepare to do some tuning either way though to really get it running how it should
