I may have forgotten to put Sta-bil in the tank before I tore my Mustang apart. Now it has been sitting there an embarrassing amount of time. I may have to siphon the old gas out to get it running. But then what do I legally do with the old stuff? I am too far from ISIS to throw Molotov coctails at the terrorists or burn up their tents, so good advice will be appreciated.

When I did this last I disconnected the QDs from the fuel rails and put a jumper into the test port to run the pump continuously. It pumped it all out of there in a hurry (into gas can of course). hehe. I just mixed it with new fuel and burned it in my truck, lawn tools etc.

As long as it's not totally contaminated do what Noobz said. I personally took some rusted/dirty/crap gas to work and put it in our waste oil/fuel recycling tank. We have a waste oil company that pumps it out 2 times a year. They'll never notice a few gallons mixed in with hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel, oil, antifreeze, etc. I believe our tank is a 500gallon unit. You possibly could see if a local oil change place will take it?
Just don't do what my childhood neighbor did. He created a huge bonfire. Threw some gas on it. Dug a little ditch and filled it with gas. Stood back and lit the trough. Needless to say it became a "bomb" fire and blew his ass into our fence. He was lucky and only lost hair and a few small burns on his face and arms. As a kid I thought it was funny. Not so much now. Old gas fumes can still be explosive.

Thanks for the reminder about the jumper for the fuel pump.

I am surprised no one Taco Bell derailed this.

I would like to kill the weeds in the alley, but the EPA does not approve of gasoline for herbicide. My other thought is keeping it for the thieves who break into the sheds up and down our alley for fuel. Taking a tank full of varnish would serve them right.
