Anyone Know A Good Paint Shop?

I live in the Orlando Fl. area and are looking for a place to get my car repainted. I currently have a 1991 mustang gt and I want it to look like it did when it was brand new except I want to add a 2.5inch cowl hood. I was thinking about buying the parts I need from Late model restoration, new headlights, fog lights, wear stripping, etc. but I am having trouble finding a spot that will do it in my price range. Any suggestions will be great.

My suggestion - spend once . Cheap and good paint and body work don't go in the same sentence . Another thing I **** up and had to do twice

A better bet might be to see if there are any local forums in your area where some people might have connections with a skilled body shop.

Based on my personal experience, I would avoid a shop that does primarily collision/insurance work.

If he is still around, Rob's auto body in Daytona did my 87 vert about 15 years ago. Amazing work. Did a pearl white with blue in it that changed colors depending on the sunlight. Took the entire car apart, installed the cervini rear wing, made it straight as an arrow and added custom stripes.

Really crappy pic of it.

.
Edit: sorry looks like Rob is no longer in business. Maybe you can find him at another shop.

+1.

In my case "cheap" was $3500. I thought I was doing the right thing by not doing a $200 paint job, but when every other shop was quoting me over $5,000 I should have thought twice about it. Now I get to pay the $5,000+ anyway and that $3,500 is down the drain.

Crazy man good luck this time

Damn man. I spent $3000 on my paint job for my 87 and about that for my 85. and they were flawless..
Best to check around locally some mutang people and inspect the work. Ask for three references from each shop. If they won't give you references to call, move on.
