First Build

For a h/c/i install I'd run at least a 70mm MAF(Pro-m),70mm tb(I prefer Accufab),and 24-30#inj and at least a 155lph fuel pump. If you are running the typical around 400-500 rwhp blower set up, upsize the inj to 42-60# and the pump to a 255-340lph. If your staying with the basic h/c/i build and aren't concerened about the few extra hp and the clearance issues,I'd go with shorty headers, but if you want to eek out all the power you can... Go long tubes imo.

Accufab ordered today... Is header brand important?

Like most other parts, you get what you pay for. If you are going with shorty's, the best IMO are Ford Ceramic. Pricey but you can also get used ones for 1/2 price of new. For LT, if you have a T5 then the best are either Kooks or Hooker. BBK are decent. Avoid MAC.

They make different LT headers for AOD than T5 as the AOD case is wider.

Finished cleaning this 97 explorer intake... Will this be a direct replacement or is there modification required?
Also, probably a dumb question but injectors, new or used?
A5, you reccomended 42-60lb injectors, is there a reason I shouldn't get the larger right away? Is there such thing as too much injector?

42-60 lb injectors on a stock motor is WAY to much injector you will have starting issues ,idle issues etc without a tune . The explorer intake is a bolt on deal . The elbow for the explorer throttle body comes off and the studs from the stock intake go in the bolt holes . If the lower isn't tapped for the act sensor most guys extend the wire and put it in the air box or the tube going to the throttle body. Either way you need it or the car will deff run like crap .

The 42-60 is only if you have the blower already and you would need a tune. You can run a big injector on a h/c/i build also if you have a tune designed around them. But there can be start issues and other problems if not done correctly. If you aren't going to be using forced induction(blower/turbo) for awhile just get the proper sized inj for the present combo. For the typical trick flow/AFR head combo/stock shortblock you'll need 24#inj. If you're going with a more aggressive head/cam you might need 30# inj. It ultimately depends on how much hp you're making. As far new vs used it all depends on individual preference. I bought bnib 30# on the corral and saved 100$ over new. 24# inj are very very common and can be hade for cents on the dollar used.

Yup . That's what was in my car with my blower setup on my stock motor
