I am in the process of removing an old engine in my 1984... I have a new 331 going in with an Edelbrock Air Gap intake manifold and Edelbrock 600 carb.

Does anyone know if this will clear the stock hood or not? I will eventually find out, but I'm just curious to find out personally from you guys because I am seeing mixed results in my searches.

On another note, I plan to go with solid mounts to keep it as low as possible. I have read that the urethane mounts will raise it slightly.

I don't for see any problem with hood clearance, the combo that you describe has been built time and time again. On a second note, I would look towards the poly mounts rather than solids.. the solid mounts will add a lot of vibration and noise to your cruising that you can do without. Third, do you currently have the edelbrock carb or will you be purchasing it?
