Working on a 93 convertible and the tag on the door jamb says manufactured in sept 92.

We need to get parking brake cables. I know there are two different lengths available. From the build date of sept 92, can the proper cable length be determined? Anyone know what it should be?

Thanks.

When you ask for cables for the 93, they have two options for length. I wanted to get the correct one before taking it apart. I guess I'll run a string along the cable and try to take a measurement that way.

But there has to be a reason that two different ones are offered. That is the basic question I was asking. Here is the autozone page with the two options.

The only possible difference of cables I can think of for 93 would be 1 style for a Cobra because it had Rear Disc, and then the other style for all the others.

Well,

Apparently there are two lengths available for the non Cobra 93's. One has a 67" length and the other a 70" length.

You can see at the link I posted the number for the disc equipped cars which would be the Cobra, and then two others, both listed for drum applications.

IIRC, the different length comes into play because of the connection style used from the parking brake handle to the cables. They did change the style for the 93 cobras, and many of the noncobra cars got the same intermediate connection. Type, which calls for a different length cable. Can you take a pic of your cables and show it to us?
