Did the guy trll u that the motor was fine ? This guy has a complete 351w wothout distrobuter for 1800 dollars it has the trickflow tw 170cc heads 750 holley carb pro comp cam stock bottom end.

I heard the motor run. Drove the car it was in . Was there when it was pulled . Know who built it too . Oil pressure was great and that's why I did it . I installed it . 30 days it lasted in my car . Just speaking from experience here take it for what it's worth .

Dang thats tuff. I would really like to build my 302 bottom end well atleast replace eveything because i have a small oil leak.
The fact of the matter is this . The stock internals are stronger then the whole block is which is why it almost doesn't pay to build a stroker to an extent and not on the budget you have in mind

Got it did not even notice the button.
One image is part of ky oil leak i may,have to get better pics later after work. Another pic is the engine i was thinking about getting but ill just use my engine .

You sure that isn't a power steering leak ? Maybe running down the line from the back of the pump and coating everything thing

When you buy used.... Buy at your own risk. Why no distributor ? My 331 stroker cost me 5500 throttle body to oil pan....should put out close to 400hp. Still with that I wish I would've bought a dart block first. Stock blocks can crack at around 500hp and I want a supercharger. The advise here is solid man. Hook up with LMR and buy everything new. Took me a year to get mine together. The dart blocks handle a lot of abuse on the track. Good solid foundation is my advise....something you can grow with and not have to worry.

Since the computer that came with the car was speed density, you need to plan to do a mass air conversion. It should be one of the first things done before you make any significant changes to the engine.

Here's why...

Speed Density uses Manifold vacuum (MAP), Throttle position (TPS) and RPM, & Air Temperature (ACT) to guess how much air the engine is pulling in. Then it uses all of them plus the O2 and ECT sensors to calculate the air/fuel mixture. It is dependent on steady manifold vacuum and minimal changes in airflow from the stock engine configuration to maintain the proper air/fuel ratio. Change the airflow or vacuum too much and the computer can't compensate for the changes, and does not run well. Forget about putting a supercharger, turbocharger or monster stroker crank in a Speed Density engine, because the stock computer tune won’t handle it. Every time you seriously change the airflow through the engine, you need a new custom burned chip to make the engine run at peak performance.

Mass Air uses a Mass Air Flow meter (MAF) to actually measure how much air is being pulled into the engine. The computer uses this information and inputs from the O2, TPS, ACT, ECT, RPM and Barometric Pressure (Baro) sensors to calculate the proper air/fuel ratio. It is very tolerant of changes in airflow and vacuum and tolerates wild cams, high flowing heads, and changes in displacement with minimal difficulties. Larger injectors can be used with an aftermarket calibrated MAF or a custom dyno tune. This makes it possible to use the stock computer with engine displacements from 302-408 cu in, and make many modifications without a custom dyno tune chip. Put a new intake manifold on your 331 stroker and the computer figures out how much more fuel to deliver without having to have a new chip burned to accommodate the extra airflow.

Get the mass air conversion completed and running good with no codes and no problems. Otherwise you will never know if the new problems are a result of adding parts or a computer unable to cope with the engine modifications.
