V3 Install Under Way Finally

If you think the flex a lite radiator is big, you should see the BeCool radiator... It's the only one I've ever had a lot of trouble with fitment. As @TOOLOW91 said, you shouldn't have much issue even though it looks tight now :)

I'm hoping to get enough clearance to jamb the 6.87" 8 rib in there. Get a tad extra boost from the larger pulley. Once I shoved it up enough it went forward. Really tight on the hood close now. LOL

I cut some pads out of heater hose and shrouded them with sheet metal as pads to keep the core support from digging into the tanks. By golly, I think it might work!!!

My rad is pretty thick . The pulley has maybe an 1/8th between itself and the fan . I'll take some pics for you either way

Sent from my iPhone using my fingers while my auto correct makes me seem illiterate

john, a couple of thoughts

1. very envious of that garage man.. if you were closer, I'd be hitting you up for space to work on my car ,,lol
2. just get a stock crank pulley for $20 and use the stock 6 rib vortech pulley. Sounds like you are killing yourself over this and the U/D pulley adds maybe 5-10 hp above 3500rpm.
3. I used MKVII fans with my Vortech setups, I had to trim the fan shroud and move the radiator forward a little.

Mike,

The 6.87" pulley I'm trying to fit would also yield me some extra boost. Can't frown at that right? In the end, I'm the kinda person who would go overboard for a few extra ponies. When every little thing is right, it adds up in the end.

Done with rad mount mods. I got about 7/8" extra out of it. Question > how much deeper is an 8 rib compared to a 6 rib? I'm guessing about 1/4"

Notched the top support and remade the brackets.

Modified lower bracket by bending and shoved the rad up and forward.

Got an extra 7/8".

Just ordered the 4FA018-022. It's a 6.87" blower drive. It's got a built in 4.75 accessory drive which is the same size UD im currently running. Gonna keep the UD and gain a tad of boost this way.

Looks like all the suppliers don't have the 4FA018-022 pulley in stock and it's a two weeks wait before shipping. Anyone here know how I can get one sooner?

I'll do the rest of the install while I wait either way. I'm also waiting on the return of my 30LB SVO injectors I sent to FIC for a rebuild.

Question for Nick, or anyone for that matter. My current setup was hungry for fuel at WOT according to my wideband reading. I have the fuel pressure cranked up 10psi above stock to keep the engine fed with the 19lb injectors.

With the installation of the V3 kit, the 30lb injectors, 30lb maf and tuned chip, should I drop the fuel pressure back down to stock as a starting point?

Short of finding one used there aren't too many shops that would carry that as a new part. I know for a fact that we don't have one laying around unfortunately
