Same issue here.. here its the evos and sti's that like to get beat up on. I had a late model Paxton mustang give me a good run but I walked him. Where I live, Leo's are on every corner so most time it's best that I dont!

It doesnt take too many youtube videos to figure out that our newer cars are huge and heavy, and a boosted fox will most likely embarrass them... As also stated, I know a lot of guys that dont dare beat on their new cars and risk having to.... FIX SOMETHING! The people that buy today's new cars generally arent the tinkering type like fox guys. They buy out of the box power and style. At least, that is the two guys I work with that own a 2012 Camaro, and 2013 GT.

Can you believe that scat pack challenger weighs 4100 lbs? Holy smokes!

My dad bought a '15 SRT 392 Challenger, and yes, they are big. The seats are big and bulky, but really comfortable. Everything about it is large, but that is exactly what he loves about it. He can adjust the suspension electronically when he wants to mess around, but when in street mode, it actually rides very comfortably because of the size. We are yet to line up, even though he continually talks crap to me. Its just a fun game for us, doubt we will ever make the time to meet at a track or Mexican back road. Honestly, although I would enjoy a little run here and there, cops are so incredibly strict these days that getting caught results in never getting a warning. Couple that with high insurance rates and cost of tickets, and one single careless driving incident can put a younger guy in a bad place in a hurry with full coverage on a new car. I bet that is a big part of the fear of running a new expensive car, now that I think about it.

Agreed. New generation don't like to get their hands dirty with ANYTHING!
Well, and to be fair, its more expensive to repair a newer car, and not as easy to tinker with due to all the electronics. You blow a coyote engine, and you arent just going to the junk yard for a cheap Explorer substitute to get you by.

Hence...Sissies:rolleyes:

I took a brand new 93 GT to the track in the first month of ownership. At that time my now local track was closed. Had to drive 2 hours to union groove "Great Lakes drag way". Beat the bejesus out of it and ran 14.00's on stock tires and drove home. Had to replace the tires after 3 months of ownership...yeah I was that idiot kid back then.

Now if I bought one I'd still rip it. But I wouldn't do it on a public street. No way. Way to dangerous and costly if you get caught. Those new challengers are very big. But I would own one in a heartbeat...very cool cars IMO. I dislike the Camaro. And I've always been a Chevy fan(don't hate me). I test drove an 1le and really didn't like it. Lots of blind spots and the "feel" just isn't right.

Yeah. My buddy's 1le is really nice, but I wouldn't buy one. I'd drive a challenger, but it would have to be a hellcat. You just can't build a car that big without the power to push it.

If i were going to break off money for a new muscle car and money wasn't an object, it'd be the new gt 350. I like the 2015 gt, but i think they need a little help (aka boost), which causes warranty problems... I think I'll just stick with the fox a while. It's paid for.

If money wasn't an object...........this

I would even put it in the Garage. Id park it in the driveway so everybody could see it. And I wouldn't give one rat's red ass that it only made 600 HP, and was made out of aluminum, and carbon fiber.

Well I live in the north. With crappy weather for 4 months and making car payments on something i can't or don't want to drive in winter, well not feasible. I love the modern cars and would own one if I lived in the south.

I guess "money is no object" leaves a lot to the imagination. Maybe i should have said "muscle car or sportscar under 100k." BUT, i like the way you're thinking!:)

I hear ya. And I used to be a staunch supporter of the "I'd buy a Challenger if I bought a new car" line of thinking too.
But,.....I see that new Mustang GT in certain colors go by me,.....and I watch it entirely too long for it to be considered a "casual glance".

That still doesn't change my position on not making a (now a 600+) monthly pymt.
