Build Thread The Hoopty Chronicles - New House, New garage, New Car?

Ah, I understand now. I spent a little time Sunday looking that table over but never put it side by side with what I had to see how close they were. But I assume the table you sent me is pretty close to this.
Close yes but with a mechanical distributor curve, I am going to experiment with some other curve later. I will send you another updated table after I find one that really (works) well. I don't want to send any unused table for you to experiment with lol I don't want to feel responsible.:nice:

Ok, I'm officially scared. :hide: All this stuff is Greek to me, so know all this troubleshooting just for the initial startup is going to make my brain melt. :nonono:
Lol its like wading thru a swamp until you figure out the software. Once you know what each function does it all just clicks together. I am willing to do over the phone classes for any members that need the help with it, I can also supply base tunes they only take a few minutes to setup. The idle and timing setting are the most important parts of the tune once the car idles the real tuning begins. The big things to remember are that the ecu makes all its base calculations for fuel based on the injector size at 43.5 psi. You can remove the vacuum reference for a more accurate tune if your NA, however this causes tuning errors if you run boost or have very large injectors. The larger the injector the harder it is to tune idle bc of minimum injector pulse width...... any who I won't muddle your thread up too much with the technical stuff.

It's very unfortunate that we'd have to start a thread for a product that already has its own forum. But if there was one I'd probably start to rethink their product.
Well, that's a good point, but I did it mainly to help within this community. The ms forum is a great resource as well. I'm just lazy and want to keep all my eggs in this basket

I truly appreciate that. This forum is my favorite and spend 75% of my time(online browsing etc) on here. It's a great resource and having another informative thread would be awesome. :nice:

+1

This has become my "go to" Forum for my mustang needs. I will look here first before anywhere else....and I will most likely trust the information here more than anywhere else.

After only 2 weeks, I got my heads back from the machine shop. Decked .004", new seats, and a valve job ran me $350. He replaced a couple valve and did the freeze plugs too but I thing that was a freebie. Oh, and he brazed an intake runner where I broke through on the push rod guide. Not a bad deal, huh?

I only lack valve springs, rockers, and push rods to have a complete top end now.

I have decided to get a fresh short block too. That'll run me another $450, but worth the effort in the end. Come on tax time!

Pulled the MAF out a few minutes ago - BYEE FELICIA! hahaha I hate those things.

I welded an elbow on to the end of the CAI where the rubber coupling went and then clamped the air filter to it. Now the only choke point on the engine is the E7s, but I got something lined up for that.

Ditching the MAF and going SD was one of the best things I did to my car. You won't miss that expensive little sensor.

I feel like a whole new list of possibilities just opened up. Now, if only a whole new pile of cash would show up too, we'd have a party on our hands.
I don't mean to derail the thread here, but why was that such a good thing? I feel like most people prefer switching to MAF. I only ask because my car is currently SD and I was contemplating switching to MAF at some point in the future. I guess SD might be simpler from a tuning perspective, but I don't know what other benefits you guys see. Feel free to PM me instead if you prefer not having this discussion here.
