What's a good build for a 302 that's good for 350-400hp. I have a block that I'm ready to start a project on but not trying to break the bank. I'm thinking forged pistons but the hypereutectic are a little cheaper. What type of crank and cam should i choose. This is just for a majority street/ occasional race motor. I'm wanting to find a good setup basically a build list. A stroker kit is a little more than i want to spend when this set https://m.summitracing.com/parts/fem-mhp173-300 is only 600. The hypereutectic is about 400.

Easiest path right there, and it has perfect street manners given the camshaft used.

If AFR heads are too expensive, keep reading.

Budget 300+ horsepower build, and is actually the basis for what is currently in my car, which put out 267hp at the rear wheels through a 2200rpm stall converter and a C4 automatic. If you go with ~20% drivetrain loss on the chassis dyno, that means I'm somewhere around 330 at the flywheel. (I used better rocker arms, a better cam, and a better intake. At the time it was dynoed, the car was still carbureted with a 670cfm Holley Street Avenger.)

Meehhh.... forged are great if you are building a bullet proof 351 based engine.

Stock rods crank and hyper pistons will survive longer than the block. I currently have them in my 306 supercharged engine.
