I have a 2003 V6. I was at a stop light waiting for the green. All of a sudden my speedometer and RPM gauge red lined (went all the way to the right) and back to 0 again without my foot on the pedal. Then it started to shake and act like it was going to cut off. I drove to my house and right when I pulled into my drive way it turned off. I put it in park and I tried to start it again. It did not start since. I have no idea if it is alternator related or battery related. Did any of you experience this?

That is weird man. Have you purchased a new battery just to eliminate that option? Do you have an AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts in your city? I know you have a new, refurbished, or remanufactured alternator but take it to AutoZone and have them check both the battery and alternator simultaneously (for free). That is what they did to mine and I was able to determine the problem was the alternator. It was putting out 11 voltage and it is suppose to put out 14. No problems since.

Mine is doing something similar. I'm not sure if the battery has a dead cell or not. Charging the battery only works until I cut the car off again. Brand new alternator.
