Painting A Fox Body Mustang

Ok so don't insult my intelligence here.

Is it 'acceptable' practice to paint your car outside? Let's say under a carport with covered sides. Is it doable? Is it not a smart idea because of all the outside particles that can land on the car?

Any advice? Thanks!

Was this just a "quicky" paint job? I'm tony saying it doesn't look good. I'm just wondering why you wouldn't remove the skirts and prime and spray them separately. They tend to hide all sorts of grime and rust?

Wind and dirt is the enemy. If you absolutely must spray your car outside, do it on a damp, humid day. My shiniest paint jobs have always been on days with high humidity.

Hummmmm......

Errrrr....exactly what advice should I give? Eh @a91what ?

Unless you're going to put a flat black on it, I would do most anything to find an enclosed area. You'll be at the mercy of the elements otherwise.

If you want may advice concerning the prep and painting of the vehicle, pm me. I'll help as best I can.

I've painted a fender or gas tank from motorcycle at edge of garage. If you paint totally outside, you need a warm day, about 72-77 seems ideal. No wind, no wet. If you can build or get a cover like they use at car shows. You might check with body shops in your area, occasionally an owner might rent out their spray booth. Go in person, they will always say no on phone.
