Wile Coyote's stunt double
You start another project of course  Building another 69 Shelby replica ...I know I know you say the first one isn't finished ,well ...Shut up :rlaugh:I can build more than one at a time :ack:.
The Trunk lid and end caps are bolted on ,i had to remove the rear rotisserie mounts ,with the car still on it ,to trim the rear rotisserie mounts so i could bolt on the tail light panel ,wasn't easy but i did it

The side scoops are bolted on ,a bit of sanding to pull them tight to the body and they will be perfect .I may have to skin the doors before i bolt up the front fenders and hood ,i will have to strip them first to see their condition .

I tried the trunk webbing and it fits nice .

Now is the time to make sure there is room between the trunk lid and the rain gutter for the trunk seal .There has to be at least 1/2 inch ,mine is 5/8 so it is perfect .You can easily bend the rain gutter with a block of wood and a mallet to get a proper gap .I hate to see a trunk lid stick up above the end caps .I close the lid and check the gap from the inside .

The headlight buckets are made and ready ,i fit the cans and trim rings already ,the cans still need to be glass beaded .
_MG_6231.JPG

The stone deflector and deflector mount are ready to bolt in .

Look out here comes the security patrol ,making her rounds ...Go ahead ,take off running ...I dare you :rlaugh:

I made the bracket to mount the metal dust shield in the front fender ,it will be bonded in after the fenders have been fit to the car to make sure they are in the correct place .

The inner bracket for the front fenders is done and will be bonded into the front fender while it is still in the mold .The metal bracket that bolts the fender to the body is 16 gauge steel and held in place by stainless rivets . May have the front fenders by the week end .

Front fenders are finished .I have to gut the doors and bolt them on to fit the fenders .The headlight buckets will not fit with the car on the rotisserie so i will have to get it down to fit the buckets and the front valance
_MG_6281.JPG

I fit the headlight buckets to the fenders on the bench they fit great . The new fender extension fit good but one bolt was in the wrong place from the original and since i drilled the holes already i get to fill one in .

I wanted to see how the old door fit up to the new fender so a couple of bolts to keep the fender from falling off and bolted the door on and they are just about a perfect fit .The new door skin probably will not fit up quite as nice as the original but i will work on that when i get the new skins on .

I ordered new door skins ,only to find out Dynacorn door skins are out of stock  Be a while before i can get door skins i guess. I fit the passenger fender on and bolted it down with only two bolts just to keep it in place .Sat the old door in place and everything fits very well . I sat the hood in place with just the two front adjusters and some styro foam at the rear corners to hold it op ,fits great ,just have to dig out some hood hinges now .
Every thing lines up very well for nothing to really be bolted down ,this will be an easy one .Well ,it looks like it will only let me load two pics

I fit the front marker lights .I had to open up the holes a bit with a file and drill the two holes for the bezel studs .I only had rear lights but they are the same except for the color .Nice snug fit .

I fit the frond hood peak also ,the fit is very good even though i haven't bent the mounting tabs yet

I found my hood hinges and sand blasted them and painted them Flat black ,they are nice tight hinges .
_MG_6368.JPG

I sand blasted my inner front bumper brackets ,they have to be cut and modified to work with the Shelby front bumper .
_MG_6369.JPG

The brackets have to be shortened and they need a plate welded to the end to mount the Shelby bumper ,A Shelby bumper has a single stud pointing straight back .I cut loose the tab that mounts the stock bracket and welded it to the end of my cut brackets .

All welded up and ready to paint and use .

Wow ! It has been a long time since i have been able to post pics on stangnet .I don't know what happened but it is working now .

I bought a 70 Grande a couple of weeks ago for $300 :) The car has all the deluxe interior and best of all it had two very good doors .There is no rot at all in them and i am probably the first one to see the insides of them since the car was built .The under coat inside them is a brownish color and still soft .All the interior parts looks like new .Won't need the door skins after all .I even got the bullet mirrors
