A couple beauty shots, although the car has not yet seen a detailer, so don't zoom in too closely.

Well, I had two small issues with the HO Fibretrends hood order. His shipping company only has 1 single terminal in Iowa, which was two hours away from me. So after paying $180 for truck shipping, I still had to drive two hours each way to get it.. HO did refund $100 of the shipping cost to...

My Cobra R hood is painted and back on the car. Never did get an exterior pic as the car is filthy, but I snapped a pic of the underside that I painted myself. It's raw fiberglass finish, so not smooth, but good enough for me. I also painted my intake tube to match. I routed it in a way that get...

Got out and fixed the charging wire. All good again. We have one more tuning session left to work out some drivability. Then it needs the A/C charged and an alignment. Beyond that, it will be improvement mods. Tighter shifter (stock TKX shifter is sloppy), decent stereo, IRS upgrades, and...

So, inflation's a b@#$^, but car part inflation's even worse!

Where's the fun in that? (Says a guy who just paid Coyote swap funds for a Dart 363) While I appreciate the greatness of the Coyote, they just don't have the car shaking lope of a built pushrod engine. To me, that's half the appeal.

Went for a leisurely drive around town to break in the clutch properly, and found out I must have a burnt out or removed battery light bulb. Stopped to get a snack and the battery was dead. Took about 3 seconds to find that the alternator wire had come out of the connector. From the looks of it...

    Harmonic balancer wobble.

When you go through the rpm range in neutral, does it vibrate? If so, it's engine related. If not, drivetrain. FWIW, I have a new Pioneer balancer sitting on a shelf, never used. You can have it for the cost of shipping if you end up needing one. I ended up buying a used engine that came with a...

I sourced all the parts and a local shop to me named D & R engines assembled it all for me and broke it in on the dyno.

The basics are set up. We took it's maiden voyage down my blacktop road, but the coilovers decided to settle an inch in the rear, and about a half inch in the front, so the exhaust scraped on every bump. I am going out to adjust the height back up, and try to tuck the exhaust better. My tuner is...

Never tried it before, but I may give it a go. A friend of mine has a nice DA he buffs his boat with. All I would be out is the pads and compound.

Man, learn from me, and don't let your car get covered in thick dirt/dust. My paint is trashed after a power wash and mit wash. Correction is going to be spendier than I thought. The car was super clean when I bought it, and now... Edit: there are a lot of white towel fuzzies on the car after...

The Junk Pyle has moved forward, well sort of

I believe I have a new Fox air dam that I never installed prior to parting out the '89. You can have it for the shipping cost from me to you if I can find it.

I got to looking at the car, and had a thought pop into my head. My wife has had 3 kids and still wont accept three skinny fingers, so how is that ok for my fender gap? It now sits at 26.25" up front and 27" even in the rear. Two finger gap front and rear. ;) The front has a little more...

I appreciate the kind words. I have to agree that it's just a nice, simple and clean look. I wanted to go a little lower, but I know I'd regret it. As I was leaving the barn, I had to grab a shot of the rear as well. I may make a cover for the fuel pumps, so they don't stand out so much.

Alrighty then folks, she's adjusted and on the ground. I hope the PO of the car isnt on this site, as he would probably be hurt seeing how dirty Ive let the car get. But alas, thus is the Iowa barn life. For those that want to compare, my front fender well sits 26.75" off the ground, and rear...
