    Quarter window notch

yeah, the rubber breaking down is common. You'll need to decide if your windows are salvagable or if you'll need to source a different set of donor windows in better shape to start with. From what i can see, that's an awful lot of material you'll need to add in. Or you dig deep into your...

Drivetrain Aod to T5 shifter Question

Transmission hump is also different. https://lmr.com/item/LRS-7277A-K/1979-93-Mustang-Manual-Transmission-Hump-Kit you can certainly make it work without the hump.

    That's a purdy Cobra intake

    Transmission fluid question.

IIRC, the only Tremec product that Syncromesh is recommended for is the TKO Line of transmissions. Perhaps even the original 3550 as well. All others took whatever Dextron ATF was recommended at the time and have all been superceeded by Dextron/Merc V. It's tough to get an official tremec...

    Water pump flange fell off

I have the Edelbrock as well. A little spendy. The impeller design does vary between different brands and such. There are higher flow versions which move more coolant. The Edelbrock is the high flow design but I also think FLowcoolers are as well. How much that translates to actual real...

    Wheels-Tires Quad shock quandry

Gabriels are a little thinner, so you might be able to flip them to gain more clearance. Obviously wheel offset plays a huge role in fit.

Holy hell. There's a new one for me.

Which springs do you have on it now? I would pull it all apart. Really doesn't make anything easier leaving parts in the way as it just gets in your way. Strip the old arms out, the spindles, the shocks, the caster camber plates and springs and then start from scratch essentially.

    Chassis stiffening

I I haven't seen Subframe connectors for anything over 2005 due to Ford improving chassis design to the point they weren't really needed. There are some small braces here and there that could be of some use but I have no real feedback on any. For example...

4.6 2v ready to go in.

All depends on the combo. I couldn't really say as I have no experience with that manifold.

4.6 2v ready to go in.

There aren't really many options. Edelbrock is the only new one, or get the use TFS. Gain top end HP at the cost of low end torque. Slap some 4.10's or even 4.30's to compensate. The OE Ford Racing is gone, so only other option would be a used PPI OE style intake. On top, I've constantly...

Interior and Upholstery Sound deadening fox interior questions

You do not need 100% coverage with the sound deadener. That's a huge misconception. The material adds mass to the panel and changes it's resonance so you don't need that much to do so. However, everyone, including myself, go for 100% coverage. I went around the wires. I trimmed the sound...

    Wheels-Tires Quad shock quandry

Grab a Gabriel 14039 quad shock on Amazon and test fit it. If it fits better, buy another. If it doesn't, just return it. I still run quads even with upgraded MM control arms. I had a slight bit of wheel hop and the quads eliminated that.

    2000 GT: More Cobra stuff

Xtool D7. Got it on sale for about $300. I love it. The car runs great but it had a little hiccup at idle. Come to find out, it’s registering misfires, but not enough to trip the codes. If idle for 5-10 mins, the live data will show 10-20 misfires, but unfortunately the obd2 setup is too...

Progress Thread Finally got my first Fox Body - 1988 GT

I’ve done it all sorts of ways in every combination. Loosening the balljoint and hitting the LcA with the hammer is the easier way to pop the spindle off the balljoint. You’ll need to pull the spring. Since you have to do the caster camber plates anyway I would just unbolt the shock from...

    Engine Installing A/C in a Non-A/C Car

The only hesitation I would have with such a kit, cost aside, is finding replacement parts down the road if needed. Hopefully it’s not, but snagging a new orifice line for an OE setup might be easier than finding a new line for the vintage air kit. Not that I think the company won’t be around...

    2000 GT: More Cobra stuff

So this car has always had a stinky exhaust. Not rich, but dawned on me that it may be lean. So I plugged in my data tool and decided to look at the O2s and sure as hell they register as lean. The voltages swing down to near 0 frequently indicating it’s trying to add fuel. Quick Look at fuel...

So, inflation's a b@#$^, but car part inflation's even worse!

Ha.. Kids won't let me. They really enjoy driving in that car with the top down. It would bum them out if i turned it into a project.

So, inflation's a b@#$^, but car part inflation's even worse!

I just like the idea of engine swaps these days. I like the idea of taking something that shouldn’t be there and making it work. Hell, i wouldn’t even be opposed to doing an EV swap. Curious how that would work out. I don’t actually want an EV fox, I just want to do the project and sell it.
