As of this writing, there are over 8050 cars pre-registered, with an anticipated 2000 additional participants expected to register after the event officially starts this Monday. And as time went along..I changed how things looked to me.

An old friend texts me three photos of one of my previous fairmont/zephyrs that I built about 23 years ago...Nobody has really seen these pics before..( and after looking at them,...it’s maybe a good thing) I bought this car as a factory V8 fairmont for next to nothing back in the...

Bleeder screw thread size for 95 Cobra calipers, front and rear.

The internet is all over the place..One says 10x1.0mm, one says 10x1.5mm, and yet another says 3/8-24... I’m looking to put speed bleeders in place of the regular screws, and Oreillys ain’t gonna have em in stock, so I need to know from some of the Brakexperts like @Mustang5L5 Anyone else?

Which C- clip eliminator kit? And..28 vs 31 spline axles

Looking at Summit, planning to buy some as the next intended purchase, but don't know which ones to get..I have the SN 95 disc brake rear. Also planned is to buy a better diff, but when I built this thing, the goal was 450 ft lbs of torque on a street tire only combo..So when putting axles in...

Where were you on this morning 19 years ago?

Let’s not forget the significance of today people. 19 years ago I was getting ready to go to work about now when CNN broke news about a plane crashing into the World Trade Tower. Let’s take a single minute to remember the 1000’s that lost their lives to a handful of terrorists that day. And...

The making of a Monster..The Official Gila Monster V2.0 build thread.

    * Editors note: I have assembled everything that I need to “ rebuild” the build thread of undoubtedly one of the longest build threads this site has ever had. In doing so, you’ll see the car evolve in the course of the few hours that it takes to read it, vs the many years that it took to build...

Build Thread 1978 Fairmont. I bet somebody back home’s thinkin’…I wonder why he don’t write..?

I deleted the old thread because it was getting out of control. It was too bloated, and too hard to find any specific item in the build even for me. Having the index worked to a degree, but considering that almost everything has changed on the car, most of the references in that index pointed to...

I just reopened my FB account....then remembered why I closed it.

Oh My GOD! it's like a bad acid trip. What a :leghump:in monumental waste of time. I spend too much time doing stupid sht here, but when it comes to FB, you get to have an opinion about everything....And with every opinion..there are dozens of people that either like, or dont like what you have to...

“Doing stuff the wrong way for the right reasons”: A related stupid story.

Back in 1996 I was deep into the grudge racing scene at my local track....Not the high dollar stuff you see on TV, it was more like ( in my best redneck voice) A. “ You wanna run that thing?“B. “Against what?” A. ( pointing towards the maroon and pink 1980 notch) “ That Mustang over there“...

When youre not sure positive is positive.

I'm wiring the engine, and I'm not sure what to do with regard to wiring the crank, and cam position sensors. Is there a positive and negative with these two wire sensors? Been looking online, and no real clear info that I can find on this.

And just when you’ve thought you’ve heard it all...

There’s this guy...pissed because his 315 Nitto’s “bulge” when mounted on a 10” wide wheel. https://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/considering-315-size-nitto-nt-05s-look-at-pic-inside.852184/ I give up. You’d think he’d be pissed because he has to drive around in a plain white...

RANT!!! The circle of life..The car guy version.

Just got a IM from another member who used to be active here. Writing to tell me that he’s left the hobby for at least the next four years while paying to put his kid through school. When I first started talking to this individual, he was on his way to get his new fox mustang, and was...

" Ooh F**k!, Ooh s**t! The universal words heard behind the camera.

So I'm watching you tube " Cars and Coffee" fails, and almost universally, that's what you hear when some dude rolls out of C&C in his * insert exotic/ high dollar resto, and either stupidly gets on the throttle in a turn, or waits till he gets straight, nails the throttle, and like some sort of...

    I need some G78-14s Chuck....Chuck...G78-14s...Chuck???

A reply today reminded me of this. Back in the days when tires were measured using a different measuring system, dating back to my youth. Before the metric system that we use today, the domestic system we used measured section width by letter instead of a number. So,...the higher the letter in...

    Anybody driven a Tesla yet?

We got a model X in trade at the dealership last week. A p90d version to be exact. It's a dorky looking thing, ( kinda Prius on steroids lookin) so I never really gave it a second glance. I had a customer call me that was interested in it, so that forced me to look at it though,.....and when I...

The cure for having disposable income.

What do you do when you have an electric car that can't be relied upon for more than just daily transportation to and from work? What do you do when you're trapped in a negative equity situation that stings so badly, trying to trade out of that burden will pile $10,000 on top of something else...
