You should be able to get the ring gear spun around, I did that with mine. As well, you need to make sure the nose cone on the starter is correct, as there are different ones. If it was loud when cranking, chances are it was close,but not quite right.

I must admit, the orange outer ring on the grill doesn't look that bad, one would have to see if the car was redone though lol. I can't see myself doing that touch to my King lol.

I snapped a head bolt off once inside the block of an old prelude I had. That was depressing, got the car towed to a machine shop to resolve lol. But I would have tried putting some heat to the bolts btw, I guess a little too late lol!

Sounds Like a fun toy you picked up! Welcome to the world of the Mustang II, as fun and challenging as it can be at times! But there are alot of great people on here with great advice and pointers.
