On a 3.8 once you start really increasing the HP the torque does not increase as much. That is why I am having a 4.2 built.
It all depends on what you want out of it. There are no aftermarket heads just stock ones worked over. I will have the new 4.2 running by the end of this month so you...
The current ported heads on my car flow a lot less than the new ones and they are the ones that made 242.232 last December.
Max flow on the current ones are 222 intake 150 exhaust.
Currently:
ported heads & intakes, custom Comp billet cam, UDP, Alum. DS, PI torque convertor, SCT tune. This is the short list.
I am having a built 4.2 assembled by Delk Performance now to be installed in two weeks.
We have preliminary flow numbers for the heads with the stock valves (1.86/1.46).
After adding the new bigger valves (1.94/1.55)we should gain a little more.

Remember one then, you don't need the fastest car or the best...
Yes.
The V6FordChallenge admission is only good until the end of the rental.
To stay for thet T&T you will need to pay for that.
I do not know what that cost is. Maybe it is listed on the Track site.

We have a hotel in Starkey that a bunch of us are staying at.
Just NE of the track.
Another thought here.
What if the car you are next to grenades & all sorts of parts & pieces come flying through your window? It does happen.
Anyone can make their own choice when it's not mandatory, but they should not be singled out for their decision either way.
