Scott Drake And Dynacorn Crap Parts

I don't think anyone would argue that original Ford tooling is different from repro from any alternate source. That's why I buy whole vehicles for parts. If I can't get NOS or original tooling, the next best thing is used original. I gave up on repro parts long ago, just too much hassle. Heck...

Scott Drake And Dynacorn Crap Parts

Might want to consider the following (taken from this VMF thread) OP: Any experience with scott drake sheet metal? Looking like Cj sells a dynacorn version and npd sells a no name. Scott Drake offers one from various dealers. NPD: You're falling victim to the confusion that results from "brand...

    Mexican Paint Job

My local paint and body guy here in CT, who's done a few daily driver insurance damage claims for me in the past, quoted $15,000 for paint and body work on my 73 Mach1. His rational was that he didn't want his name associated with a half a$$ed job - If he was going to do it, he would only do it...

    Red Neck Rotisserie

Saw this on another forum and thought I'd steal the pics for you guys. I hadn't seen anything quite this simple until now. The closer the pivot point is to the car, the easier it will be to tip.

    1973 Mustang Convertible

I can't answer your question, but I can raise more questions. You have contradictory statements: "body good" and "inner fender aprons and frame are completely junk". I'd suggest you do a very thorough structural inspection before spending any more money: Torq boxes, rocker panel, floors, wheel...

Drivetrain Are 72+73 Drive Shafts And Yokes Interchangeable?

Hmph. Once again I end up looking for a part that no one seems to have. Unless I'm wrong, I need a 31 spline 8-7/32" long C3AZ-4841-A. Can anyone verify this part number?

Drivetrain Are 72+73 Drive Shafts And Yokes Interchangeable?

My 73 Mach (351C FMX 9” Rear) is at the mechanics as I just don’t have the time to repair its various issues. The mechanic has asked me to pull the drive shaft and yoke from one of my other 71-72 Coupes (302 C4 8” Rear) for use on the 73. Are these drive shafts and yokes interchangeable? I...

    71-73 Ram Air Question

Better than no answer at all. (Be careful what you wish for Noobz, he could make his avatar match his user name.)

    71-73 Ram Air Question

Oh yeah, that does make sense. (dope slap accepted) Somehow I always pictured them closed when the engine is off. 2nd question: They remove the carb spacer for the NPD repro kit. Is that removed for OEM also?

    71-73 Ram Air Question

I found this Mustang Monthly article on Functional Ram Air installation. My issue with the article is it claims the flap position is open when there’s no intake vacuum. Wouldn’t this mean that the flap is open all the time? Seems to me that the flap should be closed when there’s no vacuum...

    Front end ID 71-73

I suspect the bumper bracket mounting holes are identical (I'd check, but the 71-72's are buried in snow). The only reason the brackets and bumper changed was to meet new impact regulations. Looking at the 71-72 bracket image above, there appears to be quite a bit of adjustability in those...

    Front end ID 71-73

You are correct: The bumper relief in the 73 fender is lower. The final proof that you have 71-72 fenders is the rubber pieces in that bumper relief area can not be installed on 73 fenders. The front end parts that differ from 71-72 to 73 are: 1. Fenders 2. Valance 3. Grille 4. Bumper and...

    Front end ID 71-73

Fender Molding on 71-72 is shorter than 73. Molding mounting surface of fender matches molding. Your front Valance is also 71-72 (73 valance has no parking lights as they are in the grille)

    Front end ID 71-73

To change a 73 to a 71-72, the PO had to have replaced the bumper mounting brackets. Your bumper is too low because the bumper brackets are not properly located. FYI: Your fenders are 71-72.

Almost finished underneath. POR-15 and Gravlguard

It'll be inseresting to see how it holds up over time. Not washing it to remove any contaminants after the nylon stripping wheel may be a bigger issue than not acid etching it. For your sake, I hope it doesn't happen, but if it does fail, it will peal off in sheets.

I hope you cleaned it with Marine Clean and etched it with Metal Ready before you applied the POR-15.

After looking at Spikes website, I suspect he'll be in the $15,000 area also, but heck - I'll send him an email with some pictures and see what he has to say. Thanks
