    If you have a new engine you have the revised pistons and should not have the problem again. The 11-12 models seem to have most of the problems.

    You can get a ramanufactured unit from Rock Auto for $223. If you can put it on yourself, you can then take it and have it flushed and filled for much cheaper than you are being quoted.

    5.0 Burning Oil

    My 2014 burned no oil between when I drove it from the dealer lot to when I got the first oil change at about 4500 miles. Ford has a guideline for oil consumption on these engines (I can not remember the guideline) but I think yours might be considered excessive.

    New Gt Please Help

    Completely up to you and whether you want to retain the full warranty or not. I added a tune to my car at 1000 miles and have driven it hard since day one. Some people take it easy and report oil burning issues as a result. Mine has not burned a drop and I am nearing 4,000 miles now.

    I'm 40 and have a '14 GT, the wife drives a '12 Rogue. My record is clean, she has one minor accident. I pay $667 every 6 months for full coverage through Progressive.

    I have not owned a Mustang since 2005 but I picked up a 2014 Sterling gray GT with a 6spd this past Saturday. The car is an amazing jump over my previous '90 LX. Can't wait to take it to the strip.
