    Where Are The 2013 Convertibles?

Ha ha, you need to find worthy opponents, like Corvette ZR1's or Ferraris and Lambos. I will be rooting for you!

    Where Are The 2013 Convertibles?

Congratulations!! I decided on the ZL1 vert anyway, but I was just wondering. I would definitely not try to race you. Thanks for the info.

    Where Are The 2013 Convertibles?

It seems there are very few 2013 Shelby's available at all, but the convertibles are almost nonexistent.I was able to find only one anywhere for sale online. What gives? There are a few, if not many, Camaro ZL1 convertibles for sale.

Saw my first Shelby 500 KR in the wild

Driving to work yesterday morning I heard a car rev up next to me and damnded if it was't a silver with blue stripes Shelby 500 KR. I never thought I would see one just cruising the streets but there it was. I was in my Dodge Charger SRT8 so we gave each other the subtle wave that supercar...

Chrylser has made my decision simple

I couldn't agree more, though I wasn't willing to wait for the Challenger. I still will get one, though, and I bet we won't see the shameful dealer markup debacle of the Shelby Mustang because Chrysler will have to produce many more Challengers than Ford does Shelby Mustangs to make a profit.

    new to the board

Glad to have a female on these forums! I share your pain, because my local Ford dealer brushed me off when I tried to order a Shelby Mustang. I'm now an SRT8 Mopar guy and I look forward to beating Shelby Mustangs in my '08 Dodge Challenger 6.1 liter Hemi in a couple of years.

Hope your fate is better then mine

Show Ford that greed will get them nowhere. This is nonsense when there are so many domestic alternatives available. Buy one of the four Mopar SRT8s(which I did, off the showroom floor for sticker) or a GTO. Or, if you can afford it, a Corvette (Z06 prefferably). Enough of Ford's price-gouging...

    Milage?

Your real-world gas mileage will always be worse than the EPA figures, but not necessarily by a wide margin. My Dodge Charger SRT8 is rated at 14mpg city. My last reading for pure city driving was 13.2 mpg and this was with the A/C running full time (though I was careful not to lead-foot it)...

    Dealer markups against the law

OK, I've got my sticker right in front of me. Base price is $35,320. Gas guzzler tax is $2100. Side air bags are $390. SRT Option Group 2 includes the upgraded stereo with subwoofer and MP3 capability, as well as cassette player and car alarm for $1245. All added up with destination charge was...

    Dealer markups against the law

I gave up on the Shelby when my local Ford dealer refused to order one for me. I now own a brand new Dodge Charger SRT8 which I paid sticker for. More room for the kids, and nearly as fast and exclusive. Good luck with your cash flow problem, Ford.

    Dealer markups against the law

I don't like that the first Shelby Mustangs will scarce and the prices bidded way up past the MSRP, but I believe in the free market capitalist system. Ford will make more as more people want them, and the price will come down. I don't want the Canada government-controlled MSRP plan that an...

    Newbie just placed my order

Boy, you guys are lucky-your Ford dealers actually let you order a Shelby-congratulations. My Ford dealer brushed me off when I tried to order one, even though I had just spent 30K at that dealership. I guess connections help. I will go elsewhere to buy my next musclecar.

Shelby GT500 order now in Ford's system!

Ford and their dealers are causing a lot of bad blood by their mishandling of the Shelby Mustang. I was ready to buy one, but after being brushed off by my local Ford dealer, I am going to wait for a Dodge Challenger or Chevrolet Camaro.

    Why so few orders?

My dealer wouldn't allow me to order one, even though we just bought a new vehicle from them. They said they were just getting one or two and will sell them to "whoever has the money"( i.e., auction). You're welcome, Sam Pack Ford in Carrollton, TX, and kiss my a$$. Hello, Dodge Challenger (in 2...

    Premium prices

I just contacted my local Ford dealer and talked with the salesman we just bought an Escape Hybrid from. He said they're not taking any deposits or any orders for Shelby Mustangs. They will simply sell them to the highest bidder as each one comes in. So forget picking colors and options, at...

    Premium prices

I hope the 30,000 workers Ford is about to lay off know that Ford is turning away eager buyers by the droves who want to buy a premium, high profit $50,000 car. I know that satisfying Shelby 500 demand would hardly be enough to save all of these jobs, but sheesh-you gotta wonder.

    Newer pic of GT500 Vert

He's not rolling in his grave, he's rolling down the road. The post alluding to his death was greatly exaggerated...

    GT 500 pics 8-20-05

I can't believe they're taking the Shelby letters off the trunk lid. They weren't "gaudy" at all. So now, unlike the Shelby Mustangs of old (at least the 67-70 models) the new Shelby Mustang will look unique only from the front, rather than all angles. I've already seen many GT's with the twin...
