Hello all,

I have a 1970 ford mustang base with a stock 302. I'm thinking about getting some hooker headers (part # 6901HKR) or some shorty hedman headers (part #88400). I'm not sure if I should get the shorty headers or the long tube headers. Both say they are for the 1970 mustang 302 and are not weld-ons. I know the shorty headers will bolt right on but I'm not sure about the long tube headers. Do they just bolt on or is there cutting required? I guess I just want to know if they will fit properly if everything is stock so far(this is all new to me). I still have the stock exhaust manifold and headers if that helps. I also have a power steering pump but no A/C compressor. How do you guys usually install new headers on your mustangs?

Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thank you!

I used Hedman shorty headers on my 1969 302 because I was worried about the undercarriage clearance (the collectors on the long tube headers will sit low and rub if you're not careful). They bolted right in and no clearance issues. Good luck!
