1989 Tilt Steering Help

I picked up a 1989 Mustang LX 5.0 Coupe. Clean, accident,rust and bondo free. When I grab the steering wheel and apply any pressure downward... it slips out of the current position, downward a notch or two or three. This is a factory tilt steering column.

My question is this: Is there an adjustment that can be performed to "tighten" this condition up? Thank you!

Take the column trim off. It's 3 phillips head screws on the underside. Once there, you'll see the white button and the tilt mechanism. Check to see that it's not damage or any of the components are loose
