just wondering 03 gt with 3.55(stock right?) only thing I got atm is flowmasters and I top out past 150mph(5k rpm at 150) how big a difference will the 4.10's make in my top end?

An 03 GT should have 3.27 gears stock regardless of auto or manual. Ford has an electronic limiter that prevents you from going faster than that. Why you would ever need to go that fast.....idk.

Is it an auto of manual? Regardless, you will hit the electronic limiter in either an auto or manual with 4.10s and stock sized tires. The 4R70w with a .70 OD would get you to 154 @ 5800 rpms. and the TR-3650 with the .62 5th could "in theory" get you to 178 @ 5800 rpms....but you will hit aero limit way before you got there on a stock car.

5 speed ,a guy owned this car for 6 months b4 I bought it .. unless there has been a computer mod this is a stock 02(not 03 sorry) mach 460 with flowmasters to headers. I hit 150 top of speedometer and keep going another half inch till I'm bounching off the bar and still another 200rpms till I top out .. so still wondering how this will change with 4.10's

According to Ford, it is electronically limited to 150. That can easily be removed, but even with 410 gears, in 5th gear you will be able to reach 150.

What gear are you in when you hit 150 @ 5000+ rpms? The calculators just do not add up to that regardless of 3.55 or 3.27. With 4.10s, 5th gear should be exactly 150 @ 5000. Are you running tires way off from the stock size?

I go in to 5th at a lil over 130 then just cruise till it's bouncing off the rev at what looks 6k but must be 5.8k. and by 5-5.2k I'm already past the 150 i do have 275/55 17 tires in rear

I'm thinking i might need to get my gauges looked at after talking to you... i normaly roam at 55mph at 1600rpm in 5th 80mph around 2500 not a 4.10 in it already right? the guy that sold this literally told me it was to slow for him so I'm wondering if he did more than flowmasters. but thank you. you did say what i wanted to know basicly when you said i should still be able to hit 150 in the 4.10's

With that HUGE rear tire, 5th gear @ 55 mph around 1600 rpms would be 4.10 gears.

Here is the calculator.

The TR-3650 gears for a 2002 GT are: 3.38, 2.00, 1.32, 1.00, and 0.62. (2001 GTs and Bullitt's had a .067 5th gear)

The 275/55-17 is 28.91" tall. That is probably the tallest tire I have ever seen fit in the rear of a new edge mustang without serious modifications. I have seen a 29.5x10.5-15 fit with a tub....

Do you have a picture? Is the rear jacked up to make it fit?

I think it is your tires dorking the whole thing up.

With 3.27 gears, and 25.5" diameter tires (stock) 53 mph would be ~1400 rpms in 5th. Change to a 28.91" diameter tire, and 1400 rpms in 5th is ~60 mph.

Problem solved. Get a hand-held tuner that will allow you to calibrate your speedo to your tire size and you are good.

This is where I get confused tho. You said that you are hitting 150 @ 5000 rpms in 5th. With the tire size and speedo being incorrect. Your speedo should say that you hit 150 at like 3500 rpms on 5th.....not 5000. In reality, that 3500 rpms that says 150 would really be like 131.

yeah being on ssi I use w/e tires a friend of mine has at his shop for 10 bucks each used...asfar as the top end I belive it's the speedo at 35 really 32 at 60- 53 and 80 is 69

there is a reason I will never sell this car it's taken good care of me past 12 years. it's gotten me through more than I could ever repay.... in and out of sticky situations. rebuilding her and give her an extra 700hp is the least I can do =) I <3 my stang
