I have a 306 Explorer motor I removed from my 93 Ranger to put into my restomod 69 Cougar. It has GT-40 heads with a little work to the runners, port matched, pedestal roller rockers, Crane springs and push rods. It has Sealed power forged pistons, TFS stg I cam, all the rod beams polished and +/- .5 gram, rotating assembly dynamically balanced. GT-40 EFI with 19# injectors. This engine ran 13.20's in my 3300# Ranger. I want to put it in my Cougar, as is with the entire Explorer front accessories, except for the p/s pump, I have electric power steering. I know I have to change the pan to a front sump and front dipstick, but I have yet to have anyone tell me that they have actually tried this or done it. I found two people who said they "thought" the A/C would hit the shock tower and or frame rail. Does anyone know for sure?
