I am rebuilding my 5.0 in my 95 cobra and cannot find an aftermarket timing chain. they seem to stop at 93 and provide no listing, does anybody know if they indeed are different and if so where I should be looking. the camshaft I removed was stamped HO351W, was this the correct original camshaft? I can not find specs anywhere and would like to replace it but I don't know what direction to take. the car will be a strip/street car so I do need a little oomph.

thank you for the heads up. I spoke with comp cams and he checked with all his staff and not one was 100% sure that they are interchangeable.

It's a catalog issue. A lot of parts were never cataloged for the Cobras. Same goes for the distributor. If you go into a parts store and ask for a distributor for a Cobra, most of the time they will tell you they don't sell one. Truth is that it's the same as the one on the GT, but the data entry people who sit in cubicles typing all the applications into the electronic catalogs never added the Cobra model on the list. I am 100% certain that a 93' 5.0, 95' GT, 95' Cobra all have the same timing chain.

The Summit website doesn't differentiate between a Cobra and a GT, so I guess I never ran into the issue. I usually use the A302 kit because in the past it was cheaper. Not sure why the B302 kit is cheaper now. The Summit wearhouse is on the opposite side of town from where I live now, so I usually get things next day. That's why I shop there so often.

The Cloyes replacement chain works with the Ford gears. Wouldn't be surprised if Cloyes made the Ford sets too.
