96 Cobra Gauge Problems!!

Big problems with the gauges! Temperature and alternator gauge peg on hot and 18 when I first turn on the key. Speedometer jumps to 20 mph and the tach goes to 2000 rpm too. This is before the car is even started.

Fuel gauge seems normal as does oil pressure but the odometer does not work. Any help would be appreciated.

Check your battery condition. Gauges bouncing like that when the key is turned to on is a good indicator of near death of the battery.
