I must have missed an earlier thread... Why is the car three different shades of red? The fender doesn't match the hood/bumper, and the door doesnt match any of those. I see it's a v6 fender, so I'm guessing junkyard run? Kind of funny, I just upgraded to the Cobra lights, and you're upgrading from them to the smoked setup. Looks much better than the one piece smoked lights my 96gt had when I bought it. Progress is slow, but it sure feels good, doesn't it? If you get some time though, you might want to adjust that fender to give yourself a little more gap like the hood has on the other side. I'm not picky, I just work in a body shop, lol.

Yeah the fender doesn't match. The color is off. . The fender fender liner and blinker were damaged so I got the parts myself and did the work. How can I adjust the fender? It bugs me too. I'm searching now for one in the e9 paint code. Got headers installed also out of the cash so I'm happy with it. And the headlights and tails I love the look. Before wreck all matched precisely. I think the angle is why the door looks different.

it's hard to see in the pictures, but I know in person my dad's 01GT is E9 and it fades terribly. Yours may just be a case of that. It's also possible the code is one of the other reds (there were like 3-4 offered in those years, and it's not always obvious). Adjusting the fender is kind of a tedious process. I'd start by loosening all of the bolts that attach it, and set the gap to the door first. Not just the gap, but the height, so it's flush with the side of the door. It's got to clear the door when it opens, but too much and it'll look like a jack-o-lantern. You'll see what I mean. Tighten the bottom and the bolt behind the door. Sometimes shims/washers help. Then move on to the hood edge. Don't assume the fender is straight just because it's not dented either. sometimes you have to pull it a little by hand anyway. Good Luck!
