Okay - bit of looong vacation and can't believe how old my threads are! Dug the Cobra 2 out of storage at Pop's acreage and now starting the build after way too many years. At least I learned a ton finishing and r-doing the inline 6 on my '65 Stang and we did a whole build including welding floorpans and quarters on my son's '74 Nova. Those two cars are pretty close to done - BORED! Get another project going - winter is coming!!
The Cobra 2 still 100% rust free (whew - Dad's storage roof was leaking on it) and I have every part except for a front spoiler and the original 302 was not in it. BUT - kid I bought it from it took it all apart for some reason. You will laugh when you see the wiring harness I untangled and ad removed.
Located my parts in 10 different sheds and buildings and gathered them all up. How did I get 5 tail lights?
Buying a 302 4 barrel with cool old headers tomorrow from a 77 stang that is getting parting out so I am set to start wrenching. Plan now for me an my son is to make a street legal track road course car. Original exterior for the most part but full race style interior. I want to keep to keep the interior panels but plan for a cage of some sort, racing seats, and after market gauges.
Anyway - before I bring back home - I want to hang the doors. Any good links or tips for this. seems like an impossible task due to the weight and awkwardness. Why would you remove the doors in the first place?
Hope to keep you guys informed as the build progresses this winter!
In storage - cool vintage snowmobile!
Original RAD 4. Guy nearby wants it bad!
Here Rusty - you untangle this knot!
