The ses light is on constantly in my girlfriend's totally stock 99' V6 5 speed. I took it to a service station so they could read the codes and they said the auxiliary air pump isn't working. It passed VA emissions with the light on, so I don't think the EPA would mind if I fooled the computer into thinking everything is working properly. Question is, how to do it. I really don't want to spend $200+ and an afternoon replacing the pump if I could avoid it. Pretty much all I've done on her car is basic tune up stuff so I'm not too familiar with the ECU tricks, but I saw a couple things about MIL eliminators. Do you think they would do the job for me?
Thanks in advance.
