I have a 2002 Mustang GT with manual transmission. I just recently developed a metal on metal kind of grinding noise which I think is coming from rear end. It does not happen until I have driven more than 15 minutes and it heats up. When it is only driven 5 minutes or so, it doesn't do it. Also, it doesn't seem to do it at higher speeds, although I do hear whining from rear end at high speed. Usually I can hear it best when I pull into a parking lot at slow speed. If I apply the parking brake and put a load on the rear as I am rolling, the sound disappears. Is this a bad bearings sound? If so, which ones?
Thanks in advance for the help.
