New member here, tearing down C4 tranny for inspection, seal replacement, etc. everything coming apart nicely, low mile unit. When I pulled pump assembly out with forward clutch assembly as expected. When separating the pump and shaft assembly from clutch assembly , a bowling pin shaped pin 5/8 inch long by 1/8 inch diameter. Gone crazy with drawings and schematics, where did this come from?

Thanks for the reply, but the piece does not show wear. I'm a fairly experienced wrench turner, just not auto trannys. Everything else in this unit is pristine, has about 30,000 miles. Just damn unusual, I'll keep looking as i tear down and hope to locate it's origins,

Do you now have, or have you ever had, an evil genius spouse? If so, that really complicated matters.

Here is a more serious question. Had you gotten into the valve body when you found this? It has been a long time since I did a non GM auto tear down, but it reminds me of some kind of piston.
