Engine Clearance Issue With Melling Oil Pump

While attempting to install a hi flow oil pump I noticed it's hitting my girdle on my 347. Would it be safe to grind down my pump a tad? How much room do I have to grind away? Attached is a couple of pictures for reference

In this case, less is more. Start on both sides a little tiny bit, reinstall to c heck for clearance, massage some more, reinstall, ect.

I would focus the majority of my work on the bolt head making sure you can still remove it in the future if need be.
