Dash lights and button lights went out

I have a 2000 mustang gt, I was messing with the cables in my off market shifter and my dash lights went out, the only lights that work are the brake light, low gas and I think check engine light. but everything else ok the dash board is out so I can’t see how many mph/rpm I’m going, or anything like temp gauge and gas gauge at night time . Even the lights where my buttons are went out like ac controls, my aftermarket radio still works tho. Any ideas?
