Engine Shipping

I'm about to purchase a complete engine online and obviously it's being shipped via freight. This is my first time dealing with this and I'm curious to know how exactly am I going to get the engine off the truck? Do companies remove it? My problem is I only own an engine hoist but no forklift or truck. Is there any company I can pay to remove it from the truck and move it 10 feet to my carport? Any help or guidance would be GREATLY appreciated!

Ask for lift gate service, I believe that's what it was called. When I got my TKO, driver unloaded and rolled into my garage. Shipping co. will call you to arrange a delivery date/time and ask if you need it unloaded.

Some places only ship to a commercial location. Part of that is to assure easy unloading, part of that is easy truck access. You need to make that call.
